Short answer: AlibeeZ came out of a problem its two founders had themselves: spending more time reconciling figures than steering the business. Pascal Chiron, then a CFO, and Frédéric Dreyfus, then a project manager, rebuilt the information system of an organisation before turning it into a product. AlibeeZ was founded in 2014.

The short version

  • Who: Pascal Chiron, CFO, and Frédéric Dreyfus, project manager.
  • The shared problem: more time spent reconciling figures than steering the business.
  • The split: Frédéric built the technical architecture, Pascal brought the operational and financial experience.
  • The product stance: a solution designed from the start to interconnect, through APIs, webhooks and connectors.
  • What comes next: detecting weak signals and giving leaders structured information about their business.

A product born of a job, not of a market study

The detail that matters in this account is the role each of them held at the time. A CFO sees the problem from one end: margins that do not reconcile, invoicing that depends on information they do not control, a close that begins with an investigation. A project manager sees it from the other: time entered several times over, progress that maps onto nothing in the accounts, requests for figures at every month end.

Both describe the same data, at the same moment, and hold different versions of it. That is what we have called a data repository problem ever since, and it is the one problem a spreadsheet never solves: it produces one more version of it.

The interconnection choice

The second half of the video is an architectural position, and it deserves to be read as one. AlibeeZ was designed to interconnect with external software through APIs, webhooks and connectors, which is to say not to claim it replaces the CRM, the accounting system, payroll or the team's issue tracker.

That choice has a direct consequence for anyone comparing solutions: the core has to be excellent at time, projects, margin and invoicing, and open everywhere else. It is the trade-off we set out in Integrated system vs best-of-breed, and that the Jira connection makes concrete.

When Frédéric and I met, he was a project manager and I was a CFO. Very quickly we saw that we were fighting the same problem: we were spending more time reconciling figures than steering the business. So we decided to design a tool to help services firms grow.

The aim was to let others benefit from our experience, through a software solution. Frédéric built the technical architecture and I brought the operational and financial experience. AlibeeZ was born out of that complementarity: a simple, reliable solution shaped for professional services firms.

AlibeeZ was designed to interconnect with external software through APIs, webhooks and connectors, and that answers a real need today for specialised tools that can talk to each other. Tomorrow, with generative AI, we will go further still: detecting weak signals and making structured information about the business easy for leaders to get at.

Frequently asked questions

Who founded AlibeeZ?

Pascal Chiron and Frédéric Dreyfus, who met while serving as CFO and project manager respectively. They founded AlibeeZ in 2014, after working together on rebuilding the information system of an organisation.

What problem was AlibeeZ designed to solve?

The constant reconciliation of figures between tools. The founding goal was that time, projects, margin and invoicing should sit on one set of records, so that steering stops being a month-end investigation.

Does AlibeeZ replace a firm's other software?

No, and that has been an explicit choice from the start. It is designed to interconnect with the specialised tools already in place (CRM, accounting, payroll, BI, issue tracking) through APIs, webhooks and connectors.
